☆Join us for our fourth international film screening from Lost in Frenchlation, featuring Cannes 2019 ‘The Wild Goose Lake’ in Chinese with English subtitles ☆ Co-produced by France, the new film noir by Chinese director Diao Yinan, who triumphed at the Berlinale 2014 with “Black Coal, Thin Ice”, is a work of stunning virtuosity. The only Chinese-language title in competition at the 2019 Cannes festival, this fourth feature is his most ambitious to date!

Zhou Zenong (Hu Ge) meets the mysterious, beautiful Liu Aiai (Gwei Lun-mei) in a dark underpass. Liu conveys the message that there is a price on Zhou’s head after a cop was shot and killed in a chase following a gang brawl. Zhou has the notion that, if he is to go down for murder, his wife might be able to benefit from a reward, while Liu sees an opportunity to escape her seedy circumstances. A feverish cat and mouse chase plays out in crime-ridden, neon-lit environs. Featuring a number of inventive, bloody set pieces, this masterful modern noir is packed with darkly delicious thrills. – Plot

“Suddenly, China feels like the noirest place on Earth.” – Variety

Just like Gil in the movie, you will travel back in time and meet mythical writers and artists who found a new home in Paris in those times. In the Latin quarter, one of the most frequently shot in Paris, you will find the movie locations and breathe the magic and whim of the New York director. The walk starts at 5pm and lasts for approximately 2h. ☞ LIMITED TICKETS: https://www.weezevent.com/lost-in-frenchlation-x-cine-balade-present-midnight-in-paris-movie-tour-9
