For her fifth feature film, Donzelli reconnects with comedy. The caustic, clown-like humor thrives in the Parisian environment, which is sometimes turgid, sometimes greedy, and often ridiculous − much to the viewer’s enjoyment! This event will be preceded by a Women of Paris Notre Dame tour.

Maud is an architect and a mother. Due to a misunderstanding, she wins the competition to refurbish the parvis of Notre-Dame. Torn between these responsibilities and love issues, she will go through an emotional storm. – Plot
 
With her latest feature, Gallic filmmaker ValĂ©rie Donzelli proves that fiction might be stranger than truth – but only just. The director was putting the finishing touches on her latest whimsical exploration of Parisian life when she learned of the fire engulfing the very public monument this past April. But no matter, as reality’s harsh incursions only added to the film’s storybook quality. – Variety

‱THE PLAN:
 
The screening will take place at Club de l’Étoile cinema, located a short walk from the world-famous Arc de Triomphe. We will be offering a variety of French-inspired drinks and popcorn during our cocktail hour from 6pm, screening at 7pm. Lost in Frenchlation and Women of Paris have teamed up to bring you a 2 hour “Women of Paris” walk into the most iconic neighborhood of Paris; Come and discover the so called “cradle of Paris”, the very heart of historic Paris, and where the story of this beloved city begins. We will be wandering through the Ăźle de la CitĂ©, around Notre Dame and into Latin Quarter, allowing the city’s own story be told through the stories of some of its most important women – often unsung heroines – who helped to put this great city on the map.
