“Marion, who has just divorced, spends her summer in the family villa near Granville. She took with her, Pauline, her young cousin. On the beach, they meet Pierre, Marion’s former lover, who introduces them to Henri. The latter invites them to his villa. Pierre courts Marion who prefers Henri and with whom she spends the night. Pauline meets Sylvain, a boy her age. Henri courts Louisette, a beach merchant, and invites her to his room. Pierre, who had surprised Louisette at the window of Henri’s room, goes to tell Marion. Over the course of the conversations, things become confusing and people become angry. The situation will resolve with Henri’s confession. An admission which will not, however, seal the general reconciliation he wanted. Henri will leave. Pauline will not reveal the truth to Marion.” — Synopsis
