Algiers, 1938. Meursault, a modest office worker in his thirties, attends his mother’s funeral without showing any visible emotion. The next day, he begins a relationship with Marie, a former colleague, and quietly resumes his ordinary life.
However, his routine is disrupted by his neighbour Raymond Sintès, who draws him into a series of increasingly troubling situations. These events ultimately lead to a tragic confrontation on a sun-scorched beach.
