“If Les Crevettes plays mischievously with fire and knows it (this is the condition of laughter), it in no way claims any realism but an obvious comic excess which enjoys clichés whether for the validate or dynamite them. Note that unlike the typical scenario of many other comedies, none of the characters suddenly find themselves redeemed by a reassuring return to the “norm”. The film opts instead for a conventional and good-natured praise of difference.” – Le Monde
