Paris, in the 1900s: Jules, a German, and Jim, a Frenchman—two artist friends—are in love with the same woman, Catherine. It is Jules who marries Catherine. The war separates them. They meet again in 1918. Catherine no longer loves Jules and falls in love with Jim.
“François Truffaut’s ‘Jules et Jim’ from 1962 is the love triangle that feels like it’s happening in the swinging 60s present moment, like Godard’s triple-header Bande à Part.” -The Guardian
