☞ DETAILS:
Celebrate the French mother’s day with « Enormous » : one of the funniest and most realistic portrayals of pregnancy we’ve seen in a long while. Limited tickets – book yours now ❗️
☞THE MOVIE:
Claire is a famous pianist whose life is managed by her husband Frederic, who also acts as her agent/coach/minder. For the sake of Claire’s career, both have decided not to have children; but Frederic changes his mind and tampers with her birth control pills so that she becomes pregnant. – Synopsis
« Foïs and Cohen’s relationship is “Énorme’s” triumph; they play each other’s foils wonderfully and naturally allow for the humour to come through » – Screen Queens
« Énorme bends expectations, genders and couple dynamics in unexpected, weird and tender ways. Claire rediscovers a body she has neglected and a sense of freedom. Frederic lives his wife’s pregnancy more than by proxy: gaining weight, attending courses for expectant moms and ‘feeling’ her pain. It’s in its most absurd moments that the film tackles womanhood the best. » IFFR

☞THE PLAN:
The screening will take place at 6:30PM at Club de L’Etoile cinema, located a few steps away from Arc de Triomphe. Tickets available online here: https://clubdeletoile-vad.cotecine.fr/reserver/ (please reserve early to avoid disappointment).
❗️Covid-19 era sanitary measures, drawn up by French health authorities, include the obligatory wearing of masks, one empty seat between separate groups of spectators (35% capacity) the cleaning of the theatre at least twice a day, and buying your ticket online is recommended.
With her film, Letourneur made the invisible visible: the misogyny and the cringey heteronormativity of everyday life.
