☞ DETAILS:

Lost in Frenchlation has teamed up with Ciné-Balade to bring you a two hour walk into the history of cinema around the Eiffel Tower, the star among the stars, and an exclusive Premiere screening of EIFFEL, one of the biggest French production of 2020, with English subtitles! What do we know of Gustave Eiffel, the engineering genius to whom the wrought-iron lattice tower is named after? This lovingly detailed biopic recreates Paris in the late 19th century to tell his story…

☞THE MOVIE:

“Having already achieved international recognition for his work – which included the framework for the Statue of Liberty – Eiffel was in high demand. He wanted to design the Paris Subway, but the French government had other ideas: they wanted something special for the 1889 World’s Fair. Initially struggling for inspiration, everything changes when Eiffel encounters a mysterious woman that he once knew many years ago.” – Synopsis

« An all-star cast that includes Romain Duris (The Spanish Apartment) as Eiffel and Emma Mackey (Netflix’s Sex Education) as Adrienne Bourgès, the woman from his past, lead this gorgeous historical film, inviting audiences to be swept away by the passion and brilliance behind the creation of France’s greatest cultural icon. » – Alliance Française Film Festival

☆OPTIONAL EIFFEL TOWER MOVIE TOUR☆

Lost in Frenchlation and Ciné-Balade have teamed up to bring you a two hour walk into the history of cinema around the Eiffel Tower, the star among the stars, and the district of Passy. Many international movies were shot here including “Mission Impossible” this year, not far from the location of “Inception” with Leonardo DiCaprio. You will learn about the beginning of cinema invented by the Lumière Brothers and how it is linked to the Eiffel Tower and the World’s Fair. We will also talk about French movies like “The Last Metro” by François Truffaut or “Peur sur la Ville” with Jean-Paul Belmondo. The story of these famous places and what filmmakers are looking for when they use them will be our main thread. The walk starts at 5pm and lasts for approximately 2 hours. Tickets available online only: https://www.weezevent.com/lost-in-frenchlation-x-cine-balade-present-eiffel-tower-movie-tour-8

You will never look at the Eiffel Tower the same way…
