Itโs summer, and 10-year-old Laure is the new kid in town. A natural tomboy, she decides to introduce herself to the neighborhood crew as Michael. What starts as a daring whim turns into a season of discovery. As Michael, Laure catches the attention of Lisa, and a summer romance begins to bloom. But Laure is playing a high-stakes game, leaning into her new life and hoping the inevitable return to school won’t shatter the world sheโs built.
๐ณ๏ธโ๐Queer French Film Series-Program Note๐ณ๏ธโ๐
The history of French queer cinema is rich and diverse. During June 2026 in ParisโPride MonthโLost in Frenchlation presents a series of films dedicated to French queer culture and lives. The series showcases a range of films from leading queer French-speaking filmmakers. Time-honored filmmakers such as Cรฉline Sciamma, Christophe Honorรฉ, Alain Guiraudie, Robin Campbillo, and Xavier Dolan are included in the program along with a new generation of French queer filmmakers such as Anna Cazenave Cambet and Hafsia Herzi. Through dramas and comedies, their films explore lesbian relationships, trans lives, โcoming-out,โ AIDS, and the pleasures of being queer.
*The Queer French Film Series is funded, in part, by the City University of New Yorkโs Research Foundation.
