A screenwriter accepts a lucrative job rewriting a film adaptation of The Odyssey, only to watch his marriage quietly unravel in the process. Set between Rome’s film studios and the blazing Mediterranean coast, Le MΓ©pris is a study of love, ego and artistic compromise.

Directed by Jean-Luc Godard and starring Brigitte Bardot, Michel Piccoli and Jack Palance, the film remains one of the most visually striking works of the Nouvelle Vague.
