Antoine Doinel marries Christine and takes on a series of rather uninteresting jobs. He becomes more bourgeois as their first child is born. Unfortunately, the couple’s good understanding is ruined by the affair Antoine begins with a Japanese woman. Christine leaves him. Once he grows tired of his quiet Japanese lover, he tries to win Christine back.
