Introduced by Caron, a colleague, Jean Fournier discovers the thrill of gambling at the Enghien casino. Definitely hooked, the bank employee decides, against his father’s advice, to spend his vacation in Nice, where gambling halls are flourishing. There he meets Jackie Demestre, who burns with the same passion and has left her husband and son for her. Together, they win a fortune at roulette, flout their luck too much, and end up losing everything. Broke, Jackie welcomes Jean into her room and offers herself to him. In a moment of abandonment, the young woman asks her lover to give her the courage to give up gambling. But the very next day, Jackie, who has been bailed out by a friend, is back on the gambling mats. Jean, meanwhile, is seriously infatuated with the beautiful and romantic gambler…
