This is the newest film by Abdellatif Kechiche, the director of the highly acclaimed ‘Blue Is The Warmest Color.’ Join our community of French cinema lovers for the premiere of this brand new film by an acclaimed French director on our very first ever Sunday screening, with drinks beforehand!

A three-hour long dance of deferred desire, Abdellatif Kechiche’s long-awaited follow up to Palme d’Or winner ‘Blue Is The Warmest Colour’ is an immersive dive into twenty-something lust for life. On the surface it’s a slight, sexy story of summer friendships and romance in the South of France, set in 1994. But Kechiche has developed an almost unique ability to give surfaces depth through his manipulation of dramatic beats and a quality of empathy that seems built into the roving camera eye. – Screen Daily

The screening will take place at the Luminor Hôtel de Ville cinema, centrally located in Paris’ lively Marais district near Hôtel de Ville. We will be offering a selection of French beverages and snacks from 6pm at the cinema bar before the screening which starts at 7pm. Tickets available both online and at the cinema – get yours early to avoid disappointment!

“Mektoub” follows a young screenwriter named Amin who travels from Paris to his hometown on the Mediterranean for the summer. He spends his days at beaches and in bars with childhood friends and his sexually-charged older cousin, Tom. Amin eventually meets a producer who offers to finance his first film, which presents the young man with numerous choices that could change his life. – Official Synopsis
