Director Marie Noëlle’s sweeping portrait of pioneering scientist Marie Curie immerses you in a sumptuously recreated turn-of-the-century Europe, capturing the most turbulent years in the life of the Nobel Prize-winning chemist and physicist. Polish actress Karolina Gruszka brings a remarkable urgency and vulnerability to Curie’s struggles to challenge conventions in both France’s male-dominated academic establishment and in her romantic life. –Official Synopsis
